Here's a photo of a finished model from the Downtown Deco site:
I'll be leaving out the foundation in the foreground of the photo. Actually, I'm still thinking about which way the building will point.Sunday, November 1, 2026
Scoping Out Where To Put A Downtown Deco Worst Block In Town
I'm aiming to fill a final corner in the Manhattan Transfer part of my layout, and after getting an actual Worst Block in Town kit, I find I can squeeze in two-thirds of the foundation, turned with the back of the building facing the viewer.
The whole kit consists of three foundations, two of which belong to demolished buildings. The only intact building is in the center position, to the right of the plaster foundation in the photo. I was happy to discover that the whole foundation is a two-part casting in the kit, so I didn't need to cut anything, I'll just use the other section maybe somewhere else. The background flats are out of whack, just there to test things.
